Job Overview:
Our Orthodox Christian elementary school is seeking an experienced and passionate subject area teacher who is dedicated to providing a rigorous education that integrates the Orthodox Christian faith into all aspects of learning. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in their subject area, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to the spiritual growth of their students.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement lesson plans that align with or exceed state standards and integrate Orthodox Christian principles and values
* Teach assigned subject area(s) to students in grades 1-5
* Assess student learning regularly through a variety of methods, including written and oral assessments, projects, and group work
* Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
* Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school events
* Foster a positive classroom environment that models Christian values, including kindness, compassion, and respect, in all interactions with students, staff, and families while promoting student engagement, critical thinking, and respect for Orthodox Christian teachings and traditions
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
* A valid teaching license/certification
* A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience
* Knowledge of Orthodox Christian teachings and practices
* Familiarity with Florida state standards and best practices in education
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture with a willingness to implement school-wide initiatives and programs
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth
* Willingness to be flexible as needed to foster the growth of our new school
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position aligning with the school's academic calendar. The teacher will be on-site, with their own classroom, instructing 1st through 5th graders in a specific subject area. Compensation, starting at a minimum of $48,000, will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
